Sizzling steak mingling with the robust flavors of garlic and potatoes, all captured within a convenient foil packet. These steak & potato foil packets are dead-simple and a quick culinary delight that will surprise you and the whole thing is done in about an hour! Whether you’re planning a backyard cookout, a picnic in the park, a savory camp dinner, or simply want to elevate your weeknight dinner, these foil packets will be in your regular meal rotation. Each packet serves one person, but you can pack them according to your needs. Inexpensive, quick, delicious!

Yields: 4 Servings | Prep Time: 10 Minutes | Total Time: 60 Minutes


2 lbs. lean sirloin or chuck

2 lb. of baby yellow potatoes

1 lb. Radishes or turnups

1 tablespoon of minced garlic

1 tablespoon Steak Shake

1 tablespoon SPF 7

3 tablespoons olive oil


1 | Bring your oven or grill up to 425 degrees

2 | Trim any excess fat off the meat and cut into approximately 2-inch cubes.

3 | Wash the potatoes and cut into quarters.

4 | Wash the radishes or turnips and cut into quarters.

5 | In a large bowl, add the steak cubes, quartered potatoes, radishes, olive oil, minced garlic, Steak Shake & SPF 7

6 | Toss the ingredients thoroughly until all ingredients are covered in the olive oil and spice mixture.

7 | Create 4 foil boats large enough to hold ¼ of the mixture, leaving room to fold closed for cooking.

8 | Distribute the steak and potatoes evenly among the foil boats. Add any additional seasoning as desired now.

9 | Wrap the foil tightly around the contents, creating secure foil packs.

10 | If grilling, place foil packs over intense heat for around 10-15 minutes each side, or until steak/potatoes are cooked. Check every 10 minutes until the meat is 135 degrees internal.

11 | If you are using the oven, put foil packets on baking sheet and bake for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until steak/potatoes are cooked to your liking. Check every 10 minutes until the meat is 135 degrees internal.

12 | Once cooked, carefully open the foil packets, being cautious of the hot steam that will escape.

13 | If there is excess juice from the meat and vegetables rendering, carefully pour the juice off into a heat safe container and place the open foil packs back on the heat for approximately 5 minutes to get a good sear on the meat and potatoes.

14 | Sprinkle fresh green onion or chives over the steak and potatoes for an extra burst of freshness.

15 | Let the packs cool, opened, for 5 minutes.

16 | Serve and enjoy!
